INTERNSHIPS AT JUGUEMOS A CANTAR
Juguemos a Cantar is pleased to offer INTERNSHIP opportunities to responsible high school students interested in learning to work with young children, learn and gain valuable work experience within a friendly and safe atmosphere along the school year. Selected candidates will receive a biweekly stipend.
Required qualifications:
1- Our candidate must be 16 to 20 years old (or currently in Junior year of High School) Older candidates can be accepted and will be considered on a case by case basis.
2- Maintain a grade average of 85%
3- Able to do 2 to 6 hours per week (equivalent to 2 days per week) within a period of 3 to 12 weeks.
4- Have strong work ethics and show extreme responsibility (for example, be on time, )
5- Spanish Conversational skills (level: intermediate to advance)
Prior to entering every candidate must satisfy:
1- Enrollment (2 interviews in Spanish with 2 teachers and one afternoon sharing time with the children and teachers)
2- Two-days of Professional Development training ONLINE and ONSITE ( minimum 1 hour a day)
3- All work site requirements (3 letters of recommendation, resume, health form)
All interns who successfully complete the 14 week internship (2 week training + 12 week internship) will be considered as positive role models and mentors. Our mentors will play a significant role when connecting other young people with opportunities. A mentor may also lend support by sharing their life story, by helping to facilitate a workshop, or by voluntarily supporting a community event. Our mentors will be seriously considered to work with Juguemos if they decide to pursue an Early Childhood or similar career.
